"Who in the WORLD am I?
Ah, that's the
GREAT PUZZLE."

In this ever-changing world

I believe that creativity is both our natural gift and hidden strength. My artwork is the expression of my imagination, brought to life with colour on canvas, board and paper.

Mostly, I paint intuitively,

not quite sure how it will turn out, but trusting the process all the same. It's a place for me to explore my dreams, emotions, and memories, as well as the world around me. This perspective guides my hand in painting, sending me down the path of self-discovery and enchantment.  It’s a constant balancing act—between intuition and reflection, and between allowing things to unfold and stepping in to control them.  This, I find tricky!

Far from a mere luxury,

for me anyway, creative expression is an essential part of life. It connects me to that magic which reminds me that there’s a larger force at play in this world and within all our lives.

Jacq was born and raised in the stunning Lake District. Predominantly a self-taught artist, her inspiration is rooted and intertwined through this magical landscape.  Her vibrant dreamscapes delve into powerful emotions, memories, and imagination, blending inner worlds with the natural environment.

Jacq was also influenced by the desire to both practice and teach Yoga within her vibrant community, and over the years, this has deepened that spiritual connection, which is from there, ultimately expressed through her artwork.

As a self-confessed ‘smitten’ traveller, Jacq’s work illustrates this wanderlust. Each canvas evolves intuitively through layers of vibrant colour, sacred geometry, and woven textures, with other-worldly glimpses, prizing open that elusive imaginative portal into the great unknown.

She works with a variety of mediums, including acrylic, pastel, collage, and inks and builds her pieces by layering both translucent and opaque colours, allowing them to interact and overlap.  Sometimes shapes and forms emerge without being intentionally placed. Making marks with a variety of objects, ripping out words from books, using thick textured paint and thin translucent washes.  Some elements stay, while others vanish for good.

Her current body of work holds the insight of the contemplative moment, which draws itself onto each brush stroke intuitively, as if each creation was already waiting to be manifest.

While Yoga and meditation most certainly free her body and mind, creating art most definitely feeds her soul…
